Wrestling season had ended and Victor had decided to finally kill Moses, a bully at his school. Moses had embarrassed him and had called him gay, then had said he wasn't even gay but that he was into pigs and dogs. Victor left his class and ran all the way home, when he got there his parents were fighting. Dr. Hoskin, his brother's doctor, was dying and his father wanted his mother to go with him and see him. His mother didn't want to and blames him for Joseph's, Victor's brother, death. A local news article had said Dr. Hoskins was caught drunk at work and was responsible for most deaths of his patients.

Victor was in the seventh grade and and went to the Army Navy Academy. There he started having problems with his captain and a lot of other guys. A lot of them were bigger than him. He started to have a kill list. He started naming people he wanted to kill and started getting their information. One day a new kid would go on the bus everyday and hit all the younger kids. He made it to the kill list too.

Victor had a new baby sister. Her name was Teresita. His father had taken him and his sister Linda to the hospital to go see her but the hospital authorities wouldn't let them in because they were too young. His father took them around the back and snuck them in threw a window. That same year Victor and his sister moved to a new catholic school named Star of the Sea. At this school Victor felt better because he didn't have to read out loud.

Victor's parents went on a vacation and took his older sister with them. Him and his younger sister had to stay with Hans and Helen (family friends). They learned about chickens and when they lay eggs and who lays eggs. They learned German and how to make their beds.

Victor didn't go to school. His father said 'your gonna flunk anyways'. That day Victor and his family went on a horseback ride. His mother was still upset about what had happened and didn't even want to touch his father. After the horseback ride they ate lunch and took a box of avocados to Victor's teacher. In the box was an envelope with money. The teacher didn't want to take it at first but they explained to her that if she passed Victor they were going to change him to a catholic school. She took it. After when Victor was sleeping his mother rushed in and told him to get ready because his father had gotten the horse drunk at a bar. When they got there the horse was kicking and "dancing" everywhere. They tried to control the horse but t was to drunk, like his father.

After Victor's teacher told him he was going to flunk again, he told his parents and his mom started crying and his dad took him outside. His dad was talking to him and saying that he was happy that he was going to flunk. He was telling him that he is a man now and that nobody could walk in his shadow.

book 3

In the end of book 2, Joseph, Victor's brother, had died and Victor's parents had given up. They didn't want to believe any more old mexican beliefs or indian beliefs. They yelled and got all angry when Victor tried to cheer them up by telling them that Shep, Joseph's dog, had gone with him in heaven. In book 3, Victor was told that he was going to flunk the fourth grade again. He wasn't going to flunk alone this time though.

Victor's dog, well his brother's dog, was going crazy in his house. Rosa and Emilio, people who take care of them, had woken up and told him that his brother was dying. Victor cried and yelled at Shep ,the dog, to stop barking and howling but he wouldn't. Victor had tried to go to sleep but he couldn't, Shep kept barking. In the morning he found out that his brother did die.

Victor had to sty after school again to catch up on his reading. One day when he came out of his class, 3 guys surrounded him. They started hitting him and he started hitting back, biting, scratching and anything he could to get them off of him. They finally got off and said that they had done that because he was mexican and more mexicans were going to go to their school the next year. The next day 4 guys had tried to jump him and 1 of them was his own friend Dennis. He started hitting them first because he knew what was going to happen. They got off of him and ran. The next day 5 guys jumped him and he couldn't defend himself as well as he could before. He got beat up real bad that he couldn't ride his bike all day way home, he had to make a lot f stops to rest.

Victor's parents came back from Las Vegas and had a whole bunch of silver dollars. Two days later they had to take Victor's brother back to the hospital because he was getting worse . His mom stayed with him either at the hospital o a nearby hotel. At school, a new girl had gotten there and got with his friend Dennis. She showed them her underwear for 5 cents each. After that, her and Denis kept bugging Victor about helping them blackmail people.

Victor's brother and him were talking about what had happened with the car. They were talking and it got to the point where he asked him if he was dying. His brother said yes and he started crying.

Victor's parents went to Las Vegas for a few days. While they were gone Victor's cousin had come over to visit them. His sister decided to throw a party and made everyone swear not to tell. Victor said he wouldn't tell if he got 50 cents for each person that went. His cousin Chemo, who came to visit, got mad and said your not suppose to blackmail family. He got paid a quarter for each person instead. The next day Chemo, his sister, sister's friend, Joan, and him were in Joan's parents car. Chemo was driving real fast and Victor told him to slow down because he was going to crash and if he didn't he would jump out. Chemo didn't believe him, so Victor jumped out the car and they would of crashed if he hadn't. At my uncles ranch me and my cousins were drifting with the cars they have there. One time we were going to fast and when we turned we had flipped the car. No one got hurt we were just laughing cause the car had flipped back on its wheels. It was pretty fun. lol

Victor's brother got really sick and had to go to the hospital. Something was wrong with his liver. When his brother felt better he went back home and ate menudo for a whole week straight. When i'm sick my mom makes me eat menudo too. I don't mind it though i love menudo. She also makes me drink 7up. lol

Victor and his family started the celebration. There were a lot of people. There was one guy who scared Victor by telling him that his father killed people and was good at it. He got scare and got into like trance and was remembering when his dad was drunk and i guess was after him and his mom, brother, and sister. When he got off his "trance", he seen the man that his dad had fooled into thinking he was a worker. He ran to tell him but it was too late. The man ws talking to him and right away figured out who he was.

They finished skinning the steer and Victor's dad had opened it up and was taking out the intestines. At my uncle's ranch we do kinda of the same thing, we hang up the goat, steer , o whatever we're going to kill that day and slit their throat, skin them, and cut them. We also dig a big hole just like Victor and his dad did. We use it for the same reason too, to cook the kill.

Victor and his brother, dad, and another man named Nicholás were going to kill a steer. They had to put him onto a tractor so they could take the meat to a cooler. At my uncle's ranch we had killed 2 goats .

Their house was finished. Victor and his dad were preparing for a big celebration at their new house. They were dragging stumps out of the way to get their front yard ready. Victor's dad let him drive the tractor. When a man, all dressed up, came by their house, Victor's dad acted like if he and Victor were the "owners" workers. He pretended that he barely knew the "owner" and was going to show the man the house.

Victor invited his friend Gus to his ranch. There they went horse riding and played cowboys and indians. Victor tried to do a trick that he seen on TV. He tried to jump on to a branch and swing on it, but he missed. He hit the tree and got knocked out for a little bit. (lol) After Gus woke him up it started raining and a whole bunch of snails came out of the bushes. Gus and Victor killled them for fun. And they also burned a lizard alive. Later that night, Victor had nightmares about the snails and lizards. He kept running to his mom until his dad finally told him to go pray by himself and ask forgiveness for what he had done and the he would be able to sleep.

Victor's teacher had sent a note home with him to his parents. The note said that he would have to stay after school everyday to practice his reading with her. By the end of the year, 2 weeks before school ended, his teacher told his parents that he would have to be held back a year because of his reading. He started crying and his dad gave him a little speach to make him feel better.

Chapter 8- At Victor's new school, there was a new kid who played everyone marbles and always won. When Victor's brother caught him looking for his marbles, he asked him if he cold teach hi how to play. He got all excited and happy to learn how to do it.

Victor had to go back to school by the end of the summer. He didn't want to go back, but had no choice. At school, his class had started reading and he was in the reading group, while most of the mexican kids were in the slow learners group. He always skipped his turn on reading and lied about reading because he wasn't very good at it.

Victor finally got out of school and got summer vacation. He was happy to get out of school. (who isn't lol) During the summer his familly had built his new house and helped build a rodeo. His brother Joseph hurt his leg pulling railroad ties across the tracks. His tie got stuck and shot of and hit his foot.

Victor's principal in kindergarden was telling his parents that he was in a knife fight at school. his parents didn't know what to do about it, so he ran away so they wouldn't have to worry bout him. On his way of "running away" he met these 2 guys who needed a place to stay. He asked his dad and he said yeah.

Victor Villaseñor was told by a little red-headed boy that mexicans always carry knives and that they are bad ugly people that can't be trusted. He believed it. He started carring knives to school and got sent to the principals office when a big teacher seen him with it.

Victor Villaseñor went to his first day of school and was crying and holding on to his moms leg, not letting go.
